WHY CIVIL JUSTICE IN THE UNITED STATES?

Based on the World Justice Project's Rule of Law Index, the United States ranked 109th of 128 countries in access to and affordability of civil justice and 115th out of 128 countries in discrimination in the civil justice system.  Although the United States performs well in some areas of justice, these are two key areas for improvement.

WHY CIVIL JUSTICE AND HEALTH JUSTICE?

Civil justice and health justice are inextricably linked.  Key determinants of personal and population health, such as income, education, housing, occupation, and family, are inhibited or facilitated by the civil justice system.

WHY COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS?

Civil justice is influenced by and influences multiple fields and sectors.  Recent successful innovations have partnered distinct disciplines and sectors.  Additionally, innovation is driven by partnering incumbents and new entrants.

WHY EVALUATE JUSTICE?

Structures, processes, and outcomes of justice matter.  Collecting and analyzing data allows for monitoring trends, enables timely response, and guides effective strategies.  Evaluation contributes to the evidence-base of civil justice.
